TAYLOR OKEY- Director
Taylor Okey received his B.M. in Music Education with an emphasis in Vocal Performance from Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, IL. While at Elmhurst, Taylor was a leading member in numerous vocal ensembles including the Elmhurst College Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and the award winning vocal jazz ensemble “Late Night Blues.”
For the past two seasons, Taylor could be seen on stage at Six Flags Great America performing in such shows as Rockin’ Country Live! and the award winning musical Love at First Fright. When not teaching privately, Taylor can be seen working as a professional actor and solo artist throughout the Chicagoland area. Most recently, he appeared in Big Noise Theater’s production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels as well as the US non-equity premier of Tomorrow Morning with Towle Theater in Hammond, IN. Additional theater credits include Carousel, The Threepenny Opera, Suessical, Joseph and the Technocolored Dreamcoat, The Music Man, and the US non-equity premier of Disney’s High School Musical. Taylor has also worked as a director and choreographer for multiple productions including The Music Man with Wells Community Theater in Bluffton, IN and Once upon a Mattress alongside Sarah Giordano at Jackson Middle School. This fall, he will be appearing in the world premier of two new musicals; The Lockout: a Musical with Six Hour Short productions, and Curious Attractions with Four Days Late productions.
Prior to Trinity Music Center, Taylor spent the past two years teaching privately at Beyond Center Stage Performing Arts Academy in Elmhurst. In addition to private lessons, he also taught several acting and musical theater classes.
BROOKE PERLMAN- Voice/ Piano
Brooke is currently a senior at Elmhurst College, majoring in Music Education with a Choral/Vocal focus with a minor in Spanish. She started taking private piano lessons in 5th grade and has continued through her college career. Brooke’s primary instrument is her voice and she has been singing ever since she can remember. She started taking private voice lessons as a sophomore in High School and now studies Classical and Musical Theatre under Jennifer Mather. At Elmhurst, Brooke has performed as a part of the Women’s Chorus, BLUE Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and currently performs with the Elmhurst College Concert Choir. She has recently had the opportunity to sing Jazz & Pop tunes at a local coffee shop on Friday evenings and enjoys performing in both solo and ensemble settings. Brooke enjoys listening to and teaching all styles of music from Classical to Country and is open to working with students of any age. She truly believes that it is never too early or too late to learn the universal language of music.
T. DUNCAN PARKER- Guitar
T. Duncan Parker obtained his B.A in Music Composition and Theory with a Vocal Performance Certificate from Elmhurst College. While at Elmhurst, he studied voice, theory and composition under the direction of Susan Moninger, Doug Beach, Scott Uddenberg, Mark Streder and Kevin Olson, and performed with several vocal and instrumental groups including Late Night Blues vocal jazz ensemble, Elmhurst College Wind Ensemble (French horn), Elmhurst College Concert Choir and an EC jazz combo as a jazz pianist. T. Duncan’s performing credits include in Guys N’ Dolls, Jesus Christ Superstar, High School Musical, Grease, Into the Woods, The Civil War, Sweeny Todd, and many others. In addition, T. Duncan is an accomplished arranger, composer and pianist. He can currently be seen on the weekends as a dueling pianist with Co-Owner Sara Schriener, Robert Deason, and many others at “Heart and Soul” on North LaSalle Street in Chicago. T. Duncan’s enthusiasm for all aspects of music is apparent in his performances, his compositions and arrangements, and in his high-energy teachingstyle.
