There are opportunities at Trinity for anyone to sing or play instruments, whether as a soloist or in an ensemble. Two new groups will begin meeting this fall -- Instruments of Praise and Voices of Praise (see details below). For more information, please contact Mary Stahlke at 708-771-7842.

ADULTS

Jubilate Choir
Rehearses every Thursday (8:00 - 9:00pm) in the Music Room. This choir leads the congregation in worship and helps them learn new music. They sing approximately every other week and for many of the major feast days of the church year. An ability to read music is not necessary. Rehearsals begin Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010.

Voices of Praise
NEW! This group will rehearse in the sanctuary on Thursdays (9:00 - 9:30pm), although the time may change depending on the needs of the group. This ensemble will include female singers in their teens, 20s and 30s. Rehearsals begin Thurs Sept 9.

Bells of Praise
Rehearses every Thursday (7:00 - 8:00pm) in the balcony of the sanctuary. This hand bell ensemble plays approximately once a month and for many major feast days of the church year. If you can count to four, you can play hand bells! Rehearsals begin Thursday, Sept. 9.

String Ensemble
Erik Grant leads a group of instrumentalists (guitar, violin, etc.) that meets in the Music Room on Sundays (12:00 - 1:00pm). Rehearsals begin Sunday, Sept. 12. For further information, telephone Erik at 630-670-8472.

Instruments of Praise
NEW! Rehearses every Wednesday (5:30 - 6:00pm) in the Music Room. This group will accompany liturgy and hymns, starting with Taize music and the Schubert liturgy. Any instrumentalist is welcome to attend. Rehearsals begin Wed., Sept. 8.

Soloists
Singers and instrumentalists can perform as soloists or with a small ensemble, with rehearsals scheduled on an individual basis.

YOUTH

Hand Chime
Ensemble A portion of the confirmation training on Wednesdays for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders is devoted to worship and music, including instruction in hand chimes. The Hand Chime Ensemble participates in worship services approximately four times per year. Confirmation-age students also worship each Sunday morning at the Sunday School opening in the chapel at 9:15am.

Voices of Praise

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Children's Choir
This ensemble of elementary-school-age children rehearses on Sundays in the music room during the Sunday School hour. Children from second to fifth grades are welcome, and they sing for worship services approximately four times per year.

Cherub Choir
This choir for our youngest singers rehearses during the Sunday School hour in the meeting area outside the pre-K classroom. They sing in worship services approximately four times per year.
