E-Mail: mstahlke@trinityvp.org

Mary Benson Stahlke, Kantor, has served at Trinity since October 2005. She manages the entire music program, serving both as organist and as the director of choirs and instrumental groups for all ages.

She has degrees in music and business, including a Ph.D. in Historical Musicology from the University of Southern California (2002). She studied organ and piano with Dr. Joyce Jones and Dr. Michael Ard, both of Baylor University, and completed a minor in organ performance under the direction of Prof. Ladd Thomas of the University of Southern California. Mary has held church music positions at many Lutheran churches over the years, and also has experience with Methodist and Anglican congregations.

"Church music allows me to use a variety of my talents to serve the Lord. Besides making music, I also get to work with people of all ages and musical abilities, as well as enjoy many types of music and instruments besides my own principal instrument, the organ. Running a church music program also requires management and business skills, for which I have been well trained."

There are many ways for everyone to serve as a musician at Trinity, whether as a singing member of the congregation, a soloist, a member of an ensemble, or a behind-the-scenes volunteer to help with the music program. If you are interested in serving, please contact me through the church office (630-834-3440)
